Guichon creek, BCIT, burnaby bc

The gabion walls on the east bank of Guichon Creek at the south end of campus, where it emerges from a culvert had collapsed due to scour and undercutting, and required reconstruction. Exotic plant species also dominated the area. In accessing the stream bed to rebuild the walls much of the site was disturbed, necessitating a restoration plan. Blue+Green was hired along with Northwest Hydraulics and Raincoast Applied Ecology to develop a detailed restoration plan for Guichon Creek. Blue+Green developed the riparian restoration planting plan and fencing plan for the project.
